size doesn't matter

Remember Silvia? Our spanish friend who translated Dad's speech into Spanish at the wedding. Well here is a photo of her dogs. She has the smallest dog in the world (called Leo) and the largest dog in the world (called Yeti). They are hilarious together! Look at Leo in the bath. What a laugh!

Bill and Ben the flower pot men

Hola Bloggers,
I've been busy all morning doing these window boxes. I've got geraniums in the lounge windo and a little herb garden going on in the dining room window. The straggly thing in the herb garden is mint .....they were the only two left in the shop. I should ahve left them really and waited until I saw some better ones but I am hopefully they will thicken out in their nice new little bed.
I've also taken a photo of my light fitting as I just adore it. There is one in the lounge and one in the hall way. I was searching for ages for a perfect mix of old and new - as that was our house is like really. This seemed to do the trick. Classic chandelier style but in modern glass tubing and chrome. I've got an amazing light fitting for the dining room but it hasn't been put up yet so you'll have to wait to see that one.
Oh I am now sporting a fetching pregnancy support belt. My doc recommended that I wear one every day from now on. I think Spanish worry about regaining their figures more than English women and so these things are more every day here. I've never heard of anyone being recommended to wear one in England. It says on the packet that it protects the baby and supports your back so maybe its nothing to do with regaining your figure afterwards. I'm giving it a try anyway. It actually feels quite cosy and comfy. Its hardly a fashion accessory though so your not getting any photos of it!

15 weeks

Hola Bloggers!

Well, for the first time in my entire life, my tummy sticks out. I've only actually put on 5 pounds so far but it doesn't half show because its all in one place and its so hard rather than flabby. I actually really like it -because I know its our little baby and not just too many pies.

I really struggle to find comfy clothes now. I have bought some pregnancy clothes but I haven;t put them on yet. I've just been wearing those of mine that I can place over or above my tummy. Mind you, I'm going to Yorkshire this weekend and the main even on the agenda is a trip to the Trafford Centre near Manchester where my sister asures me there is an H&M that has loads of trendy cheap maternity wear. So, I'll have a little spend there on saturday and then probably start wearing pregas clothes. I think I'll have to wear my new pregas jeans all weekend in Yorkshire because I know it will be cold and then things I am managing with here are all summer clothes, it being in the late 20's here. I've just checked the weather forecast for Halifax and it will be about 15 !

House wise I am hoping for the delivery of my dining room furniture next week. So, we can stop having to eat our dinner on plastic garden chairs and fold up tables. Oh and the oven is still not working! That should be done next week aswell. I've been managing with just the hob and microwave all this time. Good job we eat a lot if salads! The oven needs some conputer codes putting in it and the man has been waiting for these to come from germany to madrid to here. Bloody palava!

I'm sat in the flat now waiting for a delivery of windo boxes and earth and then I'm going to set about planting them up. I'll take some photos once they are done. I must say the department store here (Corte Ingles) is brilliant in that they will send your stuff home for you the next day. I'm always going there for this or for that and strolling back leisurely and empty handed knowing that the nice man will be at my door the next morning. Its genius. Today's delivery will include a drill for Jose! He is going to put up the blinds, pictures and curtains (when they arrive). I hope we don't have any fallings out when that little job is being carried out. He hasn't used one before but then we are both of the opinion that it can't be that hard to do (famous last words).

I bought a few cd's yesterday and I must say that I love James Morrison. His voice is gorgeous! I got a flamenco house mix aswell which is really good. Upbeat dance floor tunes with flamenco guitar mixed in. Very modern Spain.

Ok off to get some toast with peanut butter and

Soon to be three!

Hola Bloggers!

I am thrilled to be able to announce to you all that we are expecting a baby - or the beatle as we call it! Beatle because Jose reckoned it looked like a beatle on its back waving its arms and legs in the air at the first scan .....and the name has just stuck.

I'm 14 weeks pregnant - so just got past the crucial three months stage ....hence announcing it! So, that means it should arrive in the outside world at the end of November. Maybe it will be a scorpio just like its Mum and Dad. Three scorpios in one house will be quite something!

At today's scan I got the doctor to really try and have a good look to see if he could tell the sex .......and we all thought it looked like a little girl. Obviously its quite early on so we will have another good look at the next scan in a month's time. It seemed pretty obviously a girl though. We got too good shots of that area and we didn't see anything ....if you know what I mean! I won't rush out and buy all things pink just yet though. had better wait for a confrimation at the next one. Speaking of confirmation........Jose, on knowing it was girl came out with - perhaps an Opus Dei al girls convent would be a good idea! No mini skirts or boyfriends until she is 18 and actually maybe she is not allowed out of the house without us until she is 18. He was joking ......but I suspect there is a little bit of truth in his jokes. He well protect her like a baby doll and spoil her rotten I suspect. Just like he does with me!

So, I'll now bore you with pregnancy symptoms as well as house issues. All the strange symptoms have gone now actually - as they do at about 12 weeks. I was only sick once but had a constant feeling that I wanted to spit! Of course I didn't as it wouldn't be becoming of a lady like me but it was a rather uncomfortable sesation. Its due to an overproduction of saliva, apparently.

My tummy has just popped in the last couple of weeks. So all you girls out there that used to despise my flat stomach (Sherree in particular used to try and use her power as my boss to order me to eat lard!) can now rejoice in that it is going to be ruined forever! I've only put on about 4 pounds so far but I look like I have got a cantloupe melon stuck in my stomach. Everyone keeps telling me that its nothing and just wait till I look like I have got a medium sized dog stuck in my stomach.

Its quite fun as I have a whole new selection of shops that I can frequent now - those maternity wear ones. Most only stock ridiculous house on the prarie looking clothes and the obligatory dungarees but I have managed to find and purchase a few fashion items. One dress was apparently too short for a Mum to be, according to my sister - who ordered me to buy knee length leggins to go uder it. She was right on reflection. She also pissed herself at the mega high leapard print heels I have bought. She doesn't think I will be wearing them for long. Once she had gone home to England I actually heed her advise and bought three pairs of cute ballet pump type things - just in case.

So any advice from you mothers out there is now welcome at my door. Keep the gory details to yourselves though I only want to hear useful tips and nice stories.

Zzzzzzzzz

Hola Bloggers! At last we have a bed. It arrived yesterday and so last night was our first night in this flat in a proper bed .....and we have lived here for just over 2 months! We thought we would have the best night's sleep ever but strangely we both said we kept waking up. I think our bodies were in shock at being so comfortable! I kept thinking I was in a hotel, or on an aeroplane or something (I felt that high up).
I hope you like my trendy chocolate brown wall and red and brown cushions. I need to buy a couple more cushions really but I need to see exactly the right thing. This room is nearly finished in that the curtains and the chest of drawers are on order. Just need to wait forever like usual until they come. Then I need to put the light fitting up, the picture up and buy a mirror and an arm chair.
You might think I am crackers putting photos of my flat on the blog all the time but this is for two reasons. 1. all I bloody do is try and get this flat sorted - so you have to humour me and 2. Its the best way of showing my Mum and (Juanita banana) who Iknow are interested. Sorry if you're not!
Oh my Mum claimed yesterday that my wedding was much better than Elizabeth Hurley's. Not that my Mum went to Elizabeth Hurley's wedding .......just that she reads Hello magazine. According to my Mum, and Mum's know best, the inside of my marquee was much nicer (Liz didn't even have chair covers!), my flowers were nicer and my dress was nicer. So there you have it. My Mum says all Liz had was a room full of guests with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and clothes on. ..........Not that weddings are anything to get competitve over of course. Just a mother's love in full swing.
