Homeless

Hello bloggers,

Homeless - yes thats me! Strange really as some would consider me to have somewhat of a property empire. Between Jose and myself we presently own 3 and a half apartments .....but we are homeless! We are living in hotels and the farm. I´ll explain: As you know we are moving from Barcelona to Valencia. Well we have moved from Barcelona (three weeks ago) and there is a lovely girl from Madrid happily installed in our flat there (so that ones out of bounds). We have paid the depoist on our new flat in Valencia but can´t complete on that until the sale goes through of my flat in London .........which is now moving into its sixth month! So we are between homes. Its a nightmare. The nights that we stay on the farm we have to get up at 5.30 am to get Jose to teh station for 6.45 to get the trian for 2 and a half hours to Valencia to getto work. He then doesn´t return to thatstation until 10.30 at night. So its striaght to bed in order to get up at 5.30 again. Not much of a life hey! Everyfew days we stay in a hotel inValencia in order to get a decent nights sleep and avoid the train horror.......but teh expense of eating three meals a day in a restaurant or a hotel and every night in a hotel is somewhat prohibitive in providing us with this solution for any length of time. Nightmare.

I really think we are nearly towards the end of this dark dark tunnel but no one can confirm this to me as of today. Every day I am ringing round and trying to get this moving forward. Lets see what tomorrow brings.

The only light within this dark tunnel of a life we are living is the fact that every few days I can lay in bed in a hotel wacthing MTV! Which I am loving, even though its the german version. I don´t have a danny la rue what they are saying for a lot of the time but most of the programmes are american and have german subtitles so I can enjoy those without any language barriers (the only barriers there are cultural!).

Every little thing is an ordeal at the moment though. We are going to a party in Devon this weekend and need fancy clothes - black tie, ball gown shoes etc. Well you can´t imagine what I went through to try and track down those items. They were in boxes in Jose´s new office in Valencia. Every box (and there are 82) was placed with the lable facing the wall! stupid removal men! So I have literally had to move around every single box to find the ones labelled "shoes". Such a trauma. Its the same every time we need everything which is not in one of the suitcase we are travelling around with.

I´ve made two new friends through these few weeks. They are called ginger and Pecky. I have named them. They are cats. Ginger is, surprisingly I know, ginger and pecky is really little .......so pecky is short for pequenito which means small in spanish. They are on the farm and I swear that they are the most sociable cats I have ever encountered. They follow me around all the time and then sit at the window sill watching me move around inseide once I leave them and go in. Its amazing. Jose has really taken to them as well and keeps giving them pieces of chorizo every night and morning when he comes and goes to the train. I´ve never heard of giving cats chorizo either but I suppose they are spanish cats.

I am going to ahve to leave this blog where it is because my surroundings are making me wnt to puke. I am in a net cafe in valencia and the place is full of 13 year old boys playing video games and shouting to each other various swear words and insults as they kill each other on the same game that they are apparently playing from these 8 o 9 different terminals. The place stinks to high heaven of 13 year old boy BO and well just mankyness. Its totally dark - I suppose the 13 year olds like it like this but its not exactly my style. I´m going to go and do what I was supposed to be doing before I spotted this net cafe - which is buy a fridge for Jose´s office. I get all the random errands these days. If I´m not cutting keys then I´m buying light bulbs or hiring cleaners. Variety is the spice of life I suppose.

Tonight we will be driving up to the farm (2 hours drive) then getting up and going to Barcleona in the morning (2 hour drive) to fly to Bristol then drive 3 hours to the party in devon. Sunday we drive 3 hours back to bristol, fly back to Barcelona, stay in a hotel there, work in barcelona monday, drive to valencia monday night (3 and a half hours) jose works in valencia tuesday meanwhiel I drive to Torrevieja (2 and a half hours) to do my residency permit, then I drive back teh same day (2 and a half hours), stay in valencia tuesday night, drive to barcelona wednesday night (3 and a half hours) stay in barca in a hotel thursday night, work in barc friday and drive bck to the farm for friday night (2 hours) COLLAPSE FOR 2 DAYS THEN DO IT ALL AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
